Beginning Acoustic Guitar

Hello, Roger Berger here and I just wanted to say thank you for checking out my Beginning Acoustic Guitar site. I created this site because I wanted to make everyone aware of an alternative to spending several hundred dollars for a first starter guitar. I found a way to level the playing field and make that first beginner acoustic guitar affordable for everyone.

Just a little about myself.  I am an experienced guitar player and have been playing for over 30 years now. I have taught private guitar lessons in the past and at one point I had over 56 students I was teaching full time. I also taught music in the public schools. I don’t claim to be the world’s best guitar player but back in the day, I could play about any guitar solo including those from AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Rush, you name it. I had to learn each note by ear.

In the days of cassette tape players, I would have to listen to a note of the solo, rewind it back, listen to the next note, rewind it, the third note, rewind it, etc., etc., etc. After about 3-4 hours of doing this every day after school, I learned quite a few songs and solos.

I first became interested in playing the guitar when I was just 12 years old. My older brother had some friends that owned guitars and some of those guitars were in our living room by the piano (the music room). At the time, there were no guitar amplifiers in our house so being the creative and innovative person my brother was, my brother found a way to pipe the sound of the guitar through the home stereo. I remember him playing “Barracuda” from the rock band Heart and I was so captivated by that. I was so curious and interested that I started messing around with the guitar myself, trying to learn what I saw my brother playing. Long story short, I have been playing guitar ever since.

I’ve been through a lot of guitars through the years but in the beginning I couldn’t afford to buy anything. Eventually, that frustration led me to a search for that more affordable acoustic guitar. I knew there had to be a decent guitar out there somewhere for less than $100 dollars, brand new. With all the manufacturers out there, including those from other countries including China, I had a feeling I could get my hands on something cheaper yet decent and playable.

Well, after many years of searching, including browsing through brick and mortar music retail stores, my search was over thanks to the arrival of the internet. I found exactly what I was looking for. Since then, I’ve felt the need to share my find with others and offer this beginning acoustic guitar to all who are interested.
